1966 Ford Mustang hardtop for sale in Enfield, New Hampshire on GetAuto.com

"Those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end." ... or so the song goes.

One of the joys at working where I do, is I get to relive those days, if just a little bit every time I look at one of our classics.

Even this very simple Mustang brings back memories.

1966 Ford Mustang hardtop for sale in Enfield, New Hampshire on GetAuto.com

Two very good friends from by High School days owned Mustangs. Their parents probably owned them, but that doesn't really count. Marsha (was it Hall or Hull) had one. It was a blue 64 convertible. The really great thing about it was her father had to add blocks of wood to the pedals so she could drive it. Imagine doing that today!

My friend from down the block also had one. As long as Doug had it, he drove it everywhere. Of course he didn't have it that long as we pretty much believed if you hadn't blown the engine or tranny, you really weren't driving! At least, it wasn't destroyed like the 63 Impala my friends Rocky, Jim, & I wrapped around a tree on Main Street. Yes, those were the days...

It's amazing a Mustang like this even exists today. If you have memories like this (hopefully more like the good memories) check out our classics inventory. Go to GetAuto.com, Cars.com, or the more complete list at www.shakervalleyauto.net. and enjoy a short trip down memory lane!

TRUE AMERICAN ROAD TRIP

Last year I had a lot of fun watch- ing an email campaign for:

THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD.

For several months Video Applications were taken for a position with the Queensland (Australia)Tourism Board to be a “Caretaker” on the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef for 6 months. A young man from England won it. You can still check out some of Ben's adventures at http://www.islandreefjob.com.au/

Queensland may be a bit far for most of us to build up real excitement...... So closer to home, Victory is inviting 10 lucky people on

THE TRUE AMERICAN ROAD TRIP.

So if you're interested, grab your camcorder and tell the world why you deserve the chance to take a 2010 Victory Cross Country (or Cross Road if you rather) on a real American Adventure.

Good Luck!

But hurry, submissions will only be accepted through 11:59:59 PM ET on March 31, 2010. See the Victory Motorcycles website for complete terms & eligibility.
